TITCH Workshop

The afternoon will focus on identifying common problems relating to child health and working on innovative solutions and new technologies to address these.

NIHR Exhibition at the Health and Care Innovation Expo 2015

The NIHR will be exhibiting at this year’s Health and Care Innovation Expo on 2-3 September in Manchester.

The Brain Injury Healtchare Technology will be attending the Health and Care Innovation Expo which is one of the NHS’ biggest events and celebrates world leaders in science, research and innovation. The NIHR as the ‘research arm of the NHS’ will be there to showcase its work and increase awareness of clinical research as a means of innovation.

The first session titled ‘The NIHR – what’s in it for me?’ takes place on Wednesday 2 September at 10am and will explain the opportunities open to healthcare professionals, industry experts and NHS patients from the NIHR and is led by Simon Denegri, NIHR National Director for Patients and the Public alongside an industry professional, an NIHR trainee and a research-active patient.

The second session takes place on Thursday 3 September at 11am and is called ‘Growing the health and wealth of the nation’. This session has a focus on industry and is led by Dr Matt Hallsworth of the NIHR Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure (NOCRI) alongside Matt Cooper, Business Development and Marketing Director at the Clinical Research Network, Professor Ian Bruce Director of the NIHR Manchester Musculoskeletal Biomedical Research Unit and Deputy Director of the NIHR / Wellcome Trust Manchester Clinical Research Facility. and Mark Jarvis Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre & Unit Manager.

Mind The Gap

‘Mind The Gap – How can evidence keep pace with new technologies in mental healthcare?’

The 2nd nmindtechimageational symposium for the NIHR MindTech Healthcare Technology Co-operative (HTC) was held on 24th November 2014, at the Royal College of Physicians, London.

MindTech 2014 brought together leaders in clinical practice, patient experience, academic research, industry and technology development to address the key challenges in building a faster evidence-base to support implementation of new technologies in mental healthcare.  The event was targeted at NHS clinicians, service users, policy makers, technology developers/SMEs and academics and was an excellent opportunity for networking and exchange of ideas.
